The Latest News!
Welcome to worship! On this Trinity Sunday, we gather to worship the mystery and majesty of God—Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit. In the wideness of God’s love, all are welcomed into communion with God and one another. May this time of worship renew our faith and send us forth to share God’s grace with the world.
Today we receive the Two Cents-a-Meal Offering, supporting food insecurity outreach. Half of today’s gifts remain at First Church for ministries such as the Backpack Ministry and Blessing Box, while the remaining half supports hunger relief ministries across the Presbytery of Florida, with a portion also helping fund hunger ministries throughout the Synod of South Atlantic. Thank you for giving generously.
The Session has called a congregational meeting at the close of worship today to elect Claire Calohan, who has been nominated to fill a vacancy on the Session, and to elect the 2026 Congregational Nominating Committee. Members of First Church are eligible to vote on these items.
Several committee meetings will take place on Monday, June 1: Transition Team at 11 AM, Worship Committee at 12:30 PM, and Property Committee at 6 PM. We are grateful for the time, gifts, and leadership of all who serve as we continue the work and ministry of First Church together.
Fellowship Tuesdays will gather this Tuesday, June 2, at 6 PM at Major’s Smokehouse in Lynn Haven for an evening of good food, conversation, and fellowship. All are welcome! Please text Tami Valdez at (850) 625-8882 to RSVP by tomorrow.
Our Summer Choir returns next Sunday, June 7, 2026. We will meet on the first Sunday of each month at 9 AM in the Fellowship Hall to rehearse and prepare a piece for that morning’s worship service. Printed sheet music is available on the old communion table. Digital scores and audio recordings are available at www.firstchurchlh.org/sc
